Moonshot Mates is a free site, run by one person, for posting ideas and finding people to build them with. By making an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Last updated 16 October 2026.
You must be at least 18 years old. One person, one account: keep your password to yourself, and you are responsible for what is done with your account. Don't use the site if your account has been removed for breaking these terms.
What you write is yours. By posting it you give Moonshot Mates permission to store it, show it to the people it is meant for, and process it to run the site's features, including sending public ideas and bios to AI models for matching. That permission is free of charge, worldwide and not exclusive, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies kept in backups or with a report.
You promise that you have the right to post what you post, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights.
Ideas posted here are not confidential. Anything on a public thread can be read, and built on, by anyone. Don't post what you need to keep secret. Crew channels, private replies and direct messages are limited to the people in them, but the site can't stop those people from repeating what they read.
The community guidelines are part of these terms. In addition, don't try to break into the site or other people's accounts, don't collect members' information in bulk, don't run bots or scripts against it without permission, and don't do anything that gets in the way of other people using it.
Moderators may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or that put the site or its members at risk. How that works, and how to appeal, is set out in the community guidelines. The site isn't obliged to watch everything that is posted, and isn't responsible for what members post.
Moonshot Mates introduces people; it is not a party to anything you agree with them. Who owns what you build together, who gets paid, and whether to trust someone are between you and them. Use your own judgement before sharing personal details, sending money or meeting anyone in person.
Suggested links, companion findings and Scout's answers and drafts are generated by AI models. They can be wrong or miss things, and they are not professional advice. A reply drafted with a companion is labelled as such, and you are responsible for anything you choose to send.
If you believe something on the site copies your work without permission, write to hello@moonshotmates.ai with a link to it, a description of your work, your contact details, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner. Material that infringes will be removed, and accounts that infringe repeatedly will be closed.
The site is free. The “buy me a coffee” link is an optional tip to the person who runs it, handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee under its own terms. A tip buys nothing, changes nothing about your account, and is not a tax-deductible donation.
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. It may change, break, lose data or shut down. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Moonshot Mates and the person who runs it are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, for lost profits or data, or for what other members say or do, and total liability for any claim about the site is limited to 100 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You can stop using the site at any time, and delete your account from your own profile. The privacy policy says what happens to your information. Sections 2, 5, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after you leave.
These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept the new terms. The site is run from Utah, in the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, and any dispute about them or the site goes to the state or federal courts there. If one part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still stands.
Questions go to hello@moonshotmates.ai.
A Base Camp is a group of members, run by its organizers. A meetup is an in-person event that those members organize for themselves. Moonshot Mates doesn't sponsor, vet, supervise or insure a Base Camp or a meetup, and isn't a party to anything that happens at one. Whoever posts a meetup is responsible for the event and for what they say about it; the people who go, go at their own risk and look after their own safety. Meetups are for members aged 18 or over.
No money changes hands through the site or in its name, so there is nothing to refund. The site may cancel a meetup, or suspend or remove a Base Camp, when the community guidelines or these terms are broken. Sections 9 and 10 apply to meetups as to the rest of the site.
